LITTLE INDIA

Mother’s little child
Sitting watching you
Through the brightest eyes
You’ll ever see.
Deep inside her heart
Beats a silent prayer
“Won’t somebody please help me.”

I reach out to her
Silent innocence
Raining tears
Of pity deep.
And if only I,
Could be there with her
Hold her, oh how happy she would be.

Pictured poverty
In the magazine
Crying heart
Sweet golden child.
Silent misery
Looking in my eyes
I’d give my life
To see her smile.

I reach out to her
Silent innocence
Raining tears
Of pity deep.
And if only I,
Could be there with her
Hold her, oh how happy she would be.

Tainted innocence
Mother’s little girl
Bright eyed beauty
Sweet child of light.
Sinful poverty
Grips the hand of fate
Lord let her stand
Lord let her fight.

So I pray for you
Little India
As I watch the stars
The twinkling light
Moonbeams go to her
Whisper strength and love
Bring her peace
And make things right.

I reach out to her
Silent innocence
Raining tears
Of pity deep.
And if only I,
Could be there with her
Hold her, oh how happy she would be.

Fight poverty now
